Skidmore Retirees

Lillian A. Reagen

Lillian A. Reagen, a longtime member of the Lucy Scribner Library staff, died July 22, 2014, in Northumberland, Pennsylvania.  She was 88.

Born March 12, 1926, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Becker) Hua.

Lillian joined the Skidmore community in 1965 as a circulation assistant, moving to the position of serials and binding assistant in 1972 and then senior serials and binding assistant in 1976.  She retired in 1981.

Mary O鈥橠onnell, who retired in 2013  as public access assistant at the library, said, 鈥淟illian taught me when I started at the library, and I took copious notes which I used to teach others who came after me.鈥滾illian 鈥渉ad a wonderful sense of humor and was terribly interested in current events,鈥 Mary added. 鈥淎t her place in Pennsylvania, she ran a book club, staying interested and interesting in her later years.  She was a great role model.鈥

Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Edward (Ted) Reagen, a member of the Skidmore Economics Department faculty, who died in 2002.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret A. Reagen, of England; a brother, Thomas Hura, of Lyndhurst, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
