What鈥檚 Pre-College like from a professor鈥檚 perspective?

Teaching Pre-College students has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

The energy in the classroom is infectiously enthusiastic. By mixing the pre-college high schoolers with Skidmore college students, we create a classroom culture where we all benefit from each other鈥檚 places in life.

Pre-College students get to mingle with friends who have a few semesters of college under their belts. College students are charmed and inspired by the Pre-College students鈥 curiosity, excitement and eagerness to learn.

What鈥檚 your sense of what students get out of attending Pre-College?

After teaching Pre-College for several years, I can attest that the feedback is consistent. Alumni of the program often stress how useful their time here was in helping them learn about college in advance 鈥 becoming familiar with academic norms and expectations, thinking about potential majors and getting an overall sense of direction for their college path.

It truly is a fantastic program for student who have a passion for learning and a desire to start their pursuit of college goals early.
