Paul Benzon, assistant professor of English, is this year鈥檚 winner of the Schachterle Prize for
his essay "," published in College Literature, Vol. 46.1, Winter 2019. , recognizes the best new essay on literature and science written in English by a
nontenured scholar. 
Gove Effinger, professor of mathematics emeritus, has co-written a textbook, 鈥淎n Elementary Transition
to Abstract Mathematics,鈥� published by CRC Press. In addition, his article 鈥淥n Generalizing
a Corollary of Fermat鈥檚 Little Theorem鈥� was published in the November 2019 edition
of The Mathematical Intelligencer magazine, and his paper 鈥淥n Depth-2 Normal Elements
in Quartic Extensions of Finite Fields鈥� will soon appear in the Proceedings of the
14th International Conference on Finite Field, to be published by de Gruyter Press.
Stephen Ives, associate professor of health and human physiological sciences, presented research at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine. The work, 鈥淓voking the Mechanoreflex Using Static and Dynamic Approaches: The Influence of Free Radicals and Sex,鈥� was co-authored by Allie Keller 鈥�15 and Lucas Zornosa 鈥�15.
Elzbieta Lepkowska-White, professor of marketing, co-authored an article, 鈥淪trategies for Monitoring Social
Media for Small Restaurants,鈥� in the Journal of Foodservice Business Research. The
study applies the resource-based view theory to specifically explore the managerial
side of monitoring social media in small restaurants.
Oscar P茅rez, assistant professor of Spanish, published two articles. 鈥溾�� appears in Ecozon@, the European Journal of Literature, Culture, and Environment.

Dennis Schebetta, assistant professor of theater, wrote a chapter, "Money in Your Pocket: Meisner,
Objectives and The First Six Lines," in the new book 鈥溾�� (Routledge, 2019). The book compiles practical approaches from leading acting teachers.
A.J. Schneller, assistant professor of environmental studies and sciences, was featured in a about 番茄直播's contribution to the international touring exhibit 鈥淐limates
of Inequality: Stories of Environmental Justice.鈥�
