Carolyn AndersonCarolyn Anderson, professor of theater, who co-created the theater piece 鈥淥ff The Shelf鈥 with fellow faculty member Garett Wilson, spoke to the about the performances, which examine and imagine the back stories of selected items from the Tang Teaching Museum exhibit 鈥淭he Shelf.鈥 The show marks a farewell for Anderson, who will retire at the end of the semester.

Lara AyadLara Ayad, assistant professor of art history, received the Rhonda A. Saad Prize for her paper on modern and contemporary Arab art, awarded by the Association for Modern and Contemporary Art of the Arab World, Iran, and Turkey. Her project, "Homegrown Heroes: Peasant Masculinity and Nation-Building in the Paintings of Aly Kamel al-Deeb," analyzes paintings of peasant men created for the Fuad I Agricultural Museum in Cairo during the late 1930s.

Kris CoveyKristofer Covey, a visiting assistant professor of environmental studies and sciences, spoke to about methane emissions from trees. The article, 鈥淭rees Release Flammable Methane 鈥 Here's What That Means for Climate,鈥 mentions an international workshop Covey held last spring to identify research priorities, as well as a paper he co-authored.

Minita SanghviA paper co-authored by Minita Sanghvi, assistant professor of marketing, has been published. The article, 鈥淭ransformative Intersectionality: Moving Business Towards a Critical Praxis,鈥 appeared in .

Sanghvi also recently spoke at Davidson College on 鈥淲hy Hillary Lost: Gender and Intersectionality in Political Marketing鈥 as part of the college鈥檚 Economics Department Research Seminar Series.

Murat YildizMurat Yildiz, assistant professor of history, published an article in response to the recent mosque attacks in New Zealand. 鈥淗ow Does a Parent Explain the Christchurch Massacre to a Child?鈥 appears in .
